Today, voters in the UK go to the polls in what will likely be the worst performance for the ruling Conservative party ever.
Voters are fatigued by almost half a century of a neoliberal consensus politics presided over by the Conservatives and New Labour. While London has become a center of international finance, Britain’s traditional economy has been gutted, leaving the British middle class poorer than most of the developed world.
Britain has become a rentier regime, run purely in the interests of international finance capital.
